The Ephemerals are those special spring flowers that "are here today and gone tomorrow". They fill the forest floors with color and splendor for a few weeks before leaves of the trees grow large and cover them with the summer shade. This class will present some basics of botany which can help you learn to identify flowers on your own. We will go for a hike to admire some of our native wildflowers in bloom during this season, and we will discuss their life cycles and ecological relationships in the context of the southern Great Lakes bioregion.
